How do I borrow from the library?

Caregivers must have a library account before borrowing items from the library.

Bring your items to the desk and library staff will check them out to you using your name and/or employee ID number.

To reserve library items for pickup later:

  • Contact the library for assistance with requesting items
  • Library staff will locate the item and email you when it's ready for pickup
  • Items are held behind the library circulation desk for 10 days
  • Reserved library items must be picked up in person

Does the library offer after hours borrowing?

No, the library can only check out items while staffed. Come back during our business hours!

Where can I return my library items?

Library items can be returned at any Cleveland Clinic library location.

When the library is open, return items to the library desk. When the library is closed, return items to the book drop slot outside of the library.

The library cannot accept returns made via interoffice mail.

After I return an item, when will it be removed from my library account?

Returned items are checked in daily, Monday through Friday. Items returned on nights, weekends, or holidays will be backdated to the previous business day.
