Instructions for accessing library resources while off campus

To access library resources remotely, you must first register for a library account and set up a password.

When you try to access a library resource that is restricted to Cleveland Clinic employees, you will be prompted to login to your library account via a Cleveland Clinic Library Account Login screen, like in the screenshot below:

login form

If needed, you can reset your library account password by following these steps.

Some sites may require a library account login for on campus users due to network changes beyond the library's control. If you are prompted to log in while you are located on a Cleveland Clinic campus, please use the "Report a Problem" form.

Please note that if you are inactive for a long period of time or if you close your browser window, you may need to login again.

Off-campus access from Cleveland Clinic laptops

Some (but not all) Cleveland Clinic laptops include VPN software that, while running, will allow access to library resources without signing into a library account.

To test your access, try these steps:

  • Login to your VPN software, then try accessing a library resource such as ClinicalKey.
  • If the login box pops up, then you must login via your library account to get access.
  • If the library resource opens successfully, then you can use VPN in place of a library account for off-campus access.
